A few great scripts to use with Styles:

Show Based On

This script will show every paragraph style in a hierarchy, showing which styles are based on other styles. This helps you to clean up your styles, so that changing one style won’t change another style without you knowing what’s going on!

Styled List of Styles

This one makes a text frame with the names of every paragraph style, and styles each name with the actual paragraph style. This link will bring you to the actual code- simply copy the code, put it in a text editor and save as “styledlistofstyles.jsx” and install in your Scripts folder.

Double click the style name in the Scripts Panel and look on page 1 of your document, in the pasteboard to the left of PAGE ONE in your document for your styled list of styles. (note, that any styles that are using Keep Options to move the paragraph to the next page/frame, will do just that, and will show overset text.

Clear Overrides

Another favorite script is one by my friend Luis Corullon. This one allows us to clear any and all overrides that have been made to paragraph, character, object and table styles. It applies to the entire document and is a great way to scrub a document clean before starting to work.
